Based on the state of spiritual
evolution and karmic impedance of the inner vehicles, initial experiences
in meditation may have certain characteristic content. Science focuses
the attention from Physical 1 through Physical 7. At the densest pole,
you are only aware of the gross anatomical structures and sensations in
the body. As the transmuting fire begins to refine the vehicles, you become
aware of progressively finer states.
Certain teachings tend to focus
the attention in different states. For example, psychic teaching focuses
the attention along the continuum from Etheric 7 to Emotional 5. Christianity
and Judaism, teachings of the first exoteric Planetary Initiation, focus
the attention in the range of Emotional 6 through Mental 2. The Philosopher-Kings
and Magi of the Mystery Schools operate in Mental 3.
In the Mudrashram®
Master Course in Meditation, we direct the attention in the range of Mental
4 through Supramental 3. In the Mudrashram® Advanced Course
in Meditation and Satsang Program, we guide participants to the higher
octaves of ensoulment, and to cognize the elements of Supramental 4 through
Supramental 7.
The capacity to study your self
is a function of the witnessing mind, first encountered in its own nature
on Mental 7. The capacity to work on your self, to do spiritual practice,
is the faculty of the attentional principle and the spirit, at Supramental
1 and 2. The inner teacher and knower within everyone, the ensouling entity,
is encountered at Supramental 3. Disciples and Initiates who initiate
others work with the flame of the Spirit and the seed mantra of unfoldment,
Supramental 4 and 5.
Attention is the key to self-study
and activation of the faculties within whereby you can engage in inner
work. The ability to do spiritual work is contingent upon the degree to
which an individual can consciously function at the level of the attentional
principle and spirit, and at the Supramental levels.
The activity of a Master is geared
towards awakening those two principles withinthe attentional principle
and spiritand guiding the individual to carry out conscious inner
transformation.
